ACES has set a goal to electrify up to 250 air taxi sites across America’s largest airports and metro areas over the next decade.
America’s Consortium for Electric Skyways (ACES) announced plans to support Texas’ air taxi operations under the White House’s eVTOL Integration Pilot Program (eIPP) by expanding interoperable electric aviation charging infrastructure in the state across key locations like airports, FBOs and other points of interest.
Launched by Archer, BETA and Macquarie Capital, ACES has set a goal to electrify up to 250 air taxi sites across America’s largest airports and metro areas over the next decade.
Designed for industry-wide operations, ACES plans to create a shared infrastructure model where multiple operators and use cases run on the same chargers. This approach creates the pathway for additional infrastructure operators, OEMs and investors to join in on building a unified network rather than fragment into competing proprietary systems.
With all-electric air taxi flights planned in Texas in the coming months by BETA, Archer and other OEMs, ACES will collaborate with the Texas Department of Transportation and state and local partners to identify where eVTOL operators expect to fly under the program and prepare the infrastructure needed accordingly. The agency has highlighted plans for regional test flights connecting the Texas Triangle (Dallas/Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio and Houston) and rural communities with air taxi networks expanding from each city to extend regional reach.
